Why it is made this way
The Drover Coat
Cut long over the loin and short at the chest so it does not catch the front legs. Waxed cotton sheds rain and blocks wind, which is most of what a dog coat has to do.
The lining is wool tartan, which stays warm when it is damp. A synthetic lining does not.
Sized by back length rather than by breed, because two kelpies are rarely the same dog.

Will this suit a dog that swims every day?
Answered by the studioBridle leather handles a swim but it does not enjoy a daily one. If your dog is in salt water most days, the Field Collar in waxed cotton is the better choice and it costs less.
Can I get the engraving done later?

How does the sizing run against a Ruffwear or a Kmart collar?
Answered by the studioOurs are measured on the neck rather than on the strap, so they usually come up one size larger in name. Use the tape measurement rather than the size you own.
